My name is Curtis Bates, I have been driving with UPS for almost 8 years now in the Kansas City, MO area. I have a beautiful family all centered around my wonderful almost 2 year old daughter. I recently ventured into affiliate marketing as an Amazon associate and have decided to combine both industries together in efforts to help out my fellow drivers as well as myself. I do make a commission off any items purchased through this page as an amazon affiliate.
1. Without any second thought I believe the Key to a good successful day is to have a good jug of water. With this Item I went with a 2 gallon Igloo Jug even though 1 gallon can get me by I usually find myself filling up a little more. Remember Hydration starts at home.
2. Along with a good jug I find it key to have a great back pack to bring all your daily needs with you. I have been using this one now for almost 6 months. At a decent price it seems to do the trick for me. It has 2 compartments where you can put food up top and drinks in the bottom as well as 2 pockets for all the extras we need through out the days. The unique design allows for me to roll up a rain coat and attach it to the bottom for the "what if it rains days." 2 side holders allows me to keep my tumbler secure and sometimes even a protein shaker.
3. Speaking of the tumbler I try not to over spend on this item and just look for a plane 24 to 32 oz. cup. A design on here will just eventually rub off and become pointless.
As a quick bonus item to go with it silicone straws work the best.
4. Good Ice packs. I've been using the Ice Brix for a while and with this great 6 pack it allows for 1 up top 2 down with your Gatorades or Powerades. Then keeping 3 extras in the freezer just in case you forget to freeze them after a long day of work.
5. A good sweat towel. I personally go with beach towels and hang them from my handrail on my driver side. Not bringing a towel on a hot day is an amateur move. For me I'm a patriot so I fly a flag on mine but feel free to pick out your favorite design.
6. A good pair of shoes. These sketchers are very comfortable somewhat waterproof and light and easy to wear. As well as they are some of the more affordable ones I've found over the years.
7. Gloves have become one of my best friends. For years I only wore them in the winter time but in the past 2 years I have realized how much better it keeps my hands protected wearing them all year around. Again I stayed somewhat on the cheaper side and just use Maxiflex. A 3 pack is almost perfect for a couple months but I prefer buying in bulk because I use the same gloves in the winter time.
8. Undershirts, this one might seem weird to some people but on a good hot day a great moisture-wicking undershirt will help cool you down. I personally have been wearing these for a couple years and a 5 pack is wonderful for those of us who only do laundry on the weekends.
9. Sunglasses are key to making sure that bright summer sun doesn't get you too bad. I prefer a pair with a snugger fit to keep them on the face if you have to run from a dog.
10. One of my personal needs is a good quality blue tooth speaker. The JBL clip is great to keep it secured hanging from the back wires of your back up camera. I've tried many different sizes and brands and this has come out to be my favorite over the years.
For most people we already know most of these last few but they are items i have found very helpful in my time driving with UPS.
Some good Ice cube trays. I have started filling mine from home and bringing my own ice because we all know that UPS doesn't always supply us with it. These worked great for me with the 2 gallon jug.
A good small first aid kit is always good to have. I don''t use mine as much as I should but when I do cut myself or have an issue I'm always happy I have it with me.
Then to me a huge life saver has been Liquid IV. It's hydrating and lifting in the mornings, especially after a night of drinking.
If your'e a person prone to cramping a great shot of pickle juice is always good. You can drink it strait from the jar or poor a little shot to bring with you. Me personally I like the on the go shots and they are delicious. Best served chilled.
When the days get hot a good little bit of butt paste goes a long way. I personally like the spray over the paste but if your'e in mid chafe you will not get help from a spray but a paste will help you.

I personally have never used a portable wireless Air conditioner but have always wondered how much it would help to put one in the back of the truck. I don't have a good recommendation for this item but I'm sure it could be helpful. If you have one you use and like reach out to me through this page and I can add a good link to here for future viewers.
